The Phoenix is a mythological bird that lived for many years and then burned itself to death on a pyre from whose ashes another phoenix arose.

That being said, I'm going to play again. :)

    Hungary 1665 Leopold Quarter Thaler
    Hungary 1665 Leopold Half Thaler.jpg

Poor Leopold. His family tree didn't have many branches which may have caused his hog-mouth deformity.

I purchased this slabbed coin as a half Thaler. It is about 31 mm. Our member Zohar pointed-out that he believed 15 Kreuzers (XV) is 1/4 Thaler. A Thaler amounts to 60 Kreuzers.

Yes, THANK YOU FOR THE LINK. Your link shows it properly attributed as 15 K which is 1/4 Thaler. However, here is the slab that it came in:

If you wanted NGC would correct the mechanical error for free. Not sure about the shipping TO them, but if you drop it off at a show they will fix and return no cost.

It would be in a new prong type slab of course so if you prefer the current one I'd just leave it (I've been known to take a sharpie to a slab to write a correct attribution on it as long as I wasn't thinking I'd sell it...and I've dropped off a couple too, depends on the coin and/or mistake involved).

Always handled well on NGC's part. Done the same with PCGS with a show drop off, also handled well...otherwise used an intermediary so I can only assume they were also easy to deal with.

And, as I have nothing from Hungary imaged, nor a 1665 coin, I will otherwise remain on the sidelines for now.
