Find a 69 D it looks like an o with a serious cut inside the 9 after the one any value to that coin need a little help thanku
My poor old eyes can't see anything other than a possible die chip in the loop of the "9". This would only be worth a premium to a bidiot since it is such a common error. Chris
Pretty nice chip though. I keep them just for grins. (Plus to show ppl) It's only a penny. Die chip collections are fun to me haha.
@Tyler Graton If you like them, be sure to look for a 1999 with the two "eyes and a nose" or three "eyes". Chris
Not the best photo, but easy to see it is mechanical die damage ( MDD), since the secondary image is so flat, and that the mint mark ( which was then applied separately to the die, is also doubled, which is low probability for any doubled die before single squeeze die making)
I was trying to get some insight on this coin...I'm new to this site ! I do have a few questions for anyone...as far as my coins go . Have your ever seen a 1956 D with a filled 5 i cant seem to find one online to match my coin . Looks to me like another date is under was under it at some point.
Three things........ First, welcome to the neighborhood! Second, you will get a better response about your 1969-S if you start your own thread and specify what it is about the coin that concerns you. Finally, die chips that fill the center of a letter or number are extremely common, and since there are countless possibilities that may be circulating, it is not unusual to find little information online about a specific coin. You see, the center of a letter or number is formed by a post on the die, and continued strikes cause the post to break away. When this happens, coin metal flows into the void. Chris
