Okay so is this a transitional reverse design? The book I was sent seems to match. This is my last 1988D pennies I checked and I clearly saw difference between the first two which were normal straight line FG this one is different. Anyone? Thanks Tyler Graton even if it's not legit you're still awesome.
Okay side x side of both pennies. Yes taken with magnifying lens camera. The author of the page that is quoted said for people to send in their designs if they differed from those so it happens. These are clearly not the normal FG.
A good way to tell is if the top of the G is set back (to the left) of the vertical leg, and if it has the serifs. If damaged, the serifs can be hard to see. If the top of the G lines up, then it is not the '89 reverse. Here is a good resource. http://www.lincolncentresource.com/Featured/1988RDV6.html
