    610-641 Heraclius 5 S849.jpg

2,5 cm. – Heraclius, sear 849, minted in Cyprus.

I bought that for a long time ago because it was minted in Cyprus, and I had none byzantines from that Island.

But for some few hours ago I came across this, which suggest that my coin actually is or could be a Pseudo-Arab-Byzantine and not a Byzantine:

I did not pay 200-400 for mine. – Not even close.

But what I want to know is: is my coin an Arab-Byzantine or a Byzantine one?

I would say it is pseudo Byzantine. I purchased hundreds that were mainly Constans II or pseudo Byzantine. A few Arab Byzantine mixed in as well.

The problem is finding references for all of them. I still have dozens unattributed. When I get a chance I will spend time in the A.N.A. library.
The style on yours is rather sloppy even for Byzantine standards which leads me to think is an imitation.
