It could possibly be a Ancient Greek Coin of Syracuse from about 275 B.C can you make out a head on the other side at all? I am proberly wrong LOL

oooh a pitchfork, must be a devil coin. No seriously though with what appears to be a trident on it, probably greek in origin

Coud it be a banner? ... I honestly don't know much about that anyway...

No, definately a trident. Perhaps on the obverse - helmeted head of Athena right? Also, if you cleaned it yourself - you overcleaned it! When cleaning ancient coins, it is highly desirable to strive to leave the patina on it! Still, pretty awesome to get a Greek in an uncleaned lot.

Syracuse (possibly). So badly cleaned I can't make out the bust. Next time leave all the green on it, and then the bust will be clear. Not worth anything now...

Thanks for the input. I wish the obverse had some detail but there was none.

As for cleaning, I like coins to be nice and shiny. I don't worry about valuing my coins on what someone would pay me for it. Thinking about the story this coin could tell if it could talk is where the value is for me.
