I bought a 1942 S ANACS (old holder) MS66 5 Full Step nickel on ebay for around $80.00 on ebay. It has what I believe to be PVC spots on the reverse. The seller will take it back with a 10% restock fee, so when all said and done I would be out about $20.
PVC falls under ANACS garantee. Do you thing I would be better off with ANACS garantee or returning to seller? Not exactly sure what ANACS would buy back for? Would take this coin off the ebay scam market!
    I need to decide quick!
I'll try to post a picture of the spots and see if ya'll agree its PVC.

Did you know that the spot was there before you bought it? also did you pay via paypal? If you did not know & paid with paypal there is no reason that you shoudnt get a full refund

If the spots are tiny they might just be toning.

As already noted, did you pay with pay pal? Did the seller state if returned there is a restocking fee? Did the seller also state that if returned, you have to pay postage? Lots of things to know. Good luck. Also, as noted if the spots are not large, may just be a toning effect.

ANACS will not slab a coin with PVC on it. There are any number of things the spots could be caused by, but the odds are very, very slim it's PVC.

I thought ANACS would slab anything so long as it is mentioned on the slab (ie XF Details, Damaged).

The will slab a coin that has PVC damage, but it will be noted on the slab - but they will not slab a coin that still has PVC on it.

If you paid by paypal, you will get your money back if you file within 45 days, which is no problem. Simply go to resolution center and file a not as advertised dispute, you will win. Buyers always win but you must return coin with signature confirmation.

If by money order, try work with seller, the restock fee is bunk, ask for full refund, if not, file with ebay as well.

    Anacs option, keep us posted.

This has you obviously upset... I would go the full refund route if it were me and it was possible.

That is funny. I am 0 for 2 so far on recovering the restocking fee. Got my money back for every other coin I have returned (10ish) but never the restocking fee.

Doesn't look like PVC damage - looks like the result of a sneeze.

I wouldn't return it. If it bothers too much though you could send it to ANACS to see what they think.
