From initial googling it appears to be a medal celebrating 500 years of the discovery of America.

It also seems like it is 5 oz of silver...weigh it to check...it should be close to 155.5 grams

Would you believe I found that at a goodwill?

 

I'm curious what you paid for it? Anything under $100 would be good as silver is under $20/oz. right now.

 

I paid about $90 for it. I just was/am nervous about buying something for that much without knowing about it. Just seen it said 5oz. .999 silver, liked it, bought it at near spot. My tablet pics don't show the toning well, but there is some.
