I hate Heritage pics. They mute the luster and reflectivity, badly. They look flat, and I'm sure that coin blinds the viewer in-hand.
Attractive coin, but nobody is going to be able to tell the difference between a PR66 and a PR69 from pictures, especially those. Bear in mind that in 2003, if Heritage was using Nikon DSLRs, and this isn't a film scan, it was probably a D100, weighing in at $2000 and 6 MP, body only. Detector quality then wasn't anywhere near what it is now, and neither was the importance of the overall quality of their online pictures.
