Sometimes in CRHing we hit a slump and need a boost from the community to keep on with our endeavor. There is a lot of experience here with years and thousands of boxes of coin picked through and I'd like to hear what everyone has come across and would say was their golden moment in CRHing.

For me I extended my searching into a small rural town while visiting family and came across a full roll of pre-60 nickels. This was only a couple months ago and I can't tell you all the excitement I had when the teller put it on the counter next to a bunch of newer blue/brow striped paper wraps. It was a challenge, but I saved it for the last roll. I still have it, with all the original coins that were in it, where I go through rolls and get motivated every time I see the "old nickels" that someone wrote on it.

Heres one of my favorites. 1876 seated liberty quarter from a loomis roll! My first silver quarter. 20160520_181306.jpg Message_1463789965486.jpg

I guess my best CRH was when I got a Franklin half out of a tellers tray. I have also had mini jackpots of like 5-10 40%ers in a couple rolls, however I think it's quality over quantity.

I've posted this one a few times, but it was definitely my biggest CRH highlight.

I got a franklin half from the manager a couple weeks ago. He said he drove down to the branch a half hour away just to get that half dollar for me! Now that's customer service!:) 1497537476918-1455112251.jpg 1497537524094206544413.jpg

These lucky finds were from a few months ago when I started looking for half rolls again, they are hit or miss down here in Georgia. Still looking but have been skunked ever since. I've been searching more through pennies recently, in my attempt to fill some wheatie whitman folders.

I've shown this plenty but it is my best coin roll find...
This is the discovery coin for the 1982 small date zinc DDR-001. I found it in a bank roll and later sold it for 4 grand 1982p1dr001_m_b.jpg 1982p1dr001_m_c.jpg 1982p1dr001_m_d.jpg 1982p1dr001_m_f.jpg 1982p1dr001_m_i.jpg avatar.JPG

The assistant manager saw me on line Said to me the usual and I said yes. We both put up five fingers for $5.00 in pennies, got to the teller and she said your mary's neighbor, yes I am. She said I have some "sillver Dollars" do you want them? Had to say yes, she pops out 10 IKE dollars. As she spread them I saw a very shinny dollar . Back home it was a 1977 S copper nickel dollar, NICE haul plus some wheats. Got to get a Dunkin Donut for them. They all run on DUNKIN.
