I see that the tail of the "top" 9 is clearly tapered as it sits on the tail of the "bottom" 9. I don't see how PMD is a player due to this tapered "top" tail. The other numbers look different than machine doubling as well. Ideas?
Being as you ask if this could be a repunched date, you may want to ask yourself if such a thing was even possible on a cent of this date (or Lincoln cents in general - hint, hint).
