I got in around 3:20 am CST this morning. Small Gold Owl 1 1/2 Ounce Silver Owl 1717 Antiqued Cob Lesher Dollar Round Edge Eclipse Flat Edge Eclipse The Flat Edge sold out in less than an hour.
I had been waiting/hoping that they made more 1.5oz. Octagon Silver owls but unfortunately for me they changed the obverse from the lady,lion/owl, to the Indian/owl. A design I don't really care for much, and I already have on other pieces. Will have to find one sometime. Meanwhile, I will pick up a new Cobb to go with my others. Thanks for the heads up cascade.
Done. Didn't like ordering only one, but also didn't want to miss out. Would like to find someone that has an older silver Oct. though. (Hint)
The only one I like is the eclipse, although hologram coins kind of put me off. Still, the design is nice enough. The Owl is cool, but that stylized Native American is just bad IMO. No offense intended.
Dan's hologram coins/bars are unlike anything you've seen. They aren't RCM crap, that for sure. This eclipse, if it looks that damn good in pics, will most likely be nothing short of spectacular in hand!
I was able to get the one I wanted X cancelled die, I also ordered the flat edge eclipse and a 1-1/2 oz. silver owl.
In the spirit of keeping this thread going until we start getting our new our new purchases as well as keeping it at the top here's a couple of newps. Got them from a friend. Had to almost promise my first born to get his SBA Apollo
@dcarr your cu post made the products sound mint to demand. Could you let us know if that is actually the case
For several of the presently-available items, yes, that is the case. But that doesn't necessarily mean that the final mintages will end up being higher than normal, because the ordering time frame will still be limited.
There's been quite a few on Ebay recently. Dollar wise, how patient are you going to be? I think Chris got the 2015 for $200 a couple of weeks ago and the 2016 has been going for $200+. Can they be bought for under $200?
Unlikely. I think $225 - $250 is more likely -- if the Seller is patient, and especially for ANACS-slabbed octagons.
Would like to grab one, but it's not high on my list of "want bad" coins/tokens. I have feelers out with a price cap for this one. Just too many others I'm interested in to pay top dollar for this, unless an impulse buy. (which does happen) you might be surprised at what some of these go for under the radar. I guess some people sell for half or less of EBAY sold for prices, (for whatever reason) and when I see one I like, I usually get it. I have 3 that I found "much cheaper" this way. Anyway, right now I'm trying my best not to spend my budget. I'm saving (and looking) for an ancient "centerpiece" coin. Just spent $75 on another Cobb though.
I sold a 2016 in anacs 69 a few months ago for $325. If you can get a 2015 for $250 scoop it up. Timing is everything though in both buying and selling
Fresh from my PO Box and slabbed NOTE: I just reopened the slab and put the information slip in the proper orientation.
That may be here tomorrow, I wasn't going to buy one, but I changed my mind. That and the big silver owl.
What's the appeal of the "X-cancelled" clashed Morgan? I didn't get one, so this may sound like sour grapes: I prefer my 2 "non-X" clashed Morgans (PL and satin). That said, the x-cancelled looks beautifully minted. Thanks for posting photos. Now maybe I'll have to get one on ebay... gotta have a complete set don't-ya-know.
X cancelled, and clashed? You are henceforth known as an official "X-man. They look much better than I imagined.
