Well, a few days ago, I got skunked on 2 bags of Half Dollars from the bank...I decided I was going to stop searching for a while, but for some reason, I decided to order two more bags. Well, I'm glad I did! One of the bag appears to have been searched (All the halves have a black sharpie mark across them) But the other bag was FULL of silver!!! Here's a picture and the totals. 1964's are on top, then the Walking Liberty and Foreign coin, and finally, the 40%'ers. Totals: 1942- 1 1964's- 89 ***All appear to be Uncirculated!!!*** 1965's- 1 1966's- 2 1967's- 10 1968D's- 5 1969D's- 2 That's a total of 90 90%'ers and 20 40%'ers, all in ONE BAG!! Oh, and I just bought a new safe on Ebay. Yeah, I just payed for it. ;D
Great hit! I can't get bags from my banks, all I can get are boxes. So I ditto the question, How many in a bag?
i think there is 100 dollars in a bag. By the way GREAT FIND!!! I've been trying to order halves from my bank, they keep telling me "they will let me know once they get in contact with their provider for coin"
Right now some dude is asking his wife "hey, have you seen my half dollar collection anywhere lately?" and she's pushing a shoebox out of sight.
I cannot imagine the reaction you must have had when you opened that bag and dumped it out . Nice find! Any accented Hair?
I believe you are correct. I was not sure if any were proof as he only states that they look uncirculated.?.
BTW, the melt is around $450 right there. If all those 90%-ers are uncirc., then the numismatic value is above that by quite a bit, I bet. Dang...
