    It's called a clashed die. Although very nice I would not recommend certification. I think you would be upside down on the value. I have even actively searching for one that nice. But would not spend more than $20. Nice coin. What a cherry!!!!!

    Very nice die clash and a keeper. I have not been on the past couple of days so sorry for tardy reply. I have also not read everyone's comments yet. ziggy9 gave a good explanation above. But before you send to a TPG to be slabbed, check www.maddieclashes.com to see if someone has turned this one in for verification. But a die that has heavy clashing is not a "new" die but a damaged die. It may or may not be possible to polish this out and continue to be able to use the same dies. Depends upon how bad they are.
