Well its a fairly common date and available in lower grades, many were bent and used as 'love tokens'. I don't always believe Buy-it-Now listings as an accurate indicator of price as they are often at much more than an auction would achieve...which is why they stay listed for a LONG time. Having said that, some are very reasonable and I've managed to get a bargain or two from B-i-N listings in the past. Sometimes people prefer to take the difficult path and bid against each other rather than go for the easier B-i-N option.....human nature:happy:.

I think you've probably got it for a little less than the market price but will you make money after factoring in selling costs etc. I don't know!! Its a great little coin anyway and I would enjoy owning it for a while before selling it.;)

My 1806 Great Britain penny is in an NGC MS65 holder. Sorry, I didn't have the slab photo on my laptop when I posted it. As I recall, it is a coin I purchased from Matt (aka LostDutchman) in 2012.

Great coin. Nice toning. I have couple of these somewhere, with and without hearts. Must find them and take pictures. :)

Oh, good heavens, man! If it isn't @panzerman, here you have to go, too!

Y'all slay me with this stuff!

And he can't remember if he posted it before. LOL

If I owned that coin, it would be my avatar, in my sigline, I'd have it on T-shirts, and though I despise tattoos, I'd even be contemplating that! :p

Y'all would be so sick of me posting it that you would hire someone to steal it and throw it into the ocean!

PS- that 1787 6d rocks, too. I believe I posted a holey circ example several pages back.

PS @Collect89- second glimpse - wow, no, - that coin REALLY rocks.

I'm not saying I'd get a tattoo of it or anything, but it would otherwise get shown off a lot! ;)

My 1810 1/3 guinea wasn't a BIN. It was an auction win.

I realise that. I was referring to the two comparisons you listed. They are BINs and IMHO do not reflect an accurate market value.

Like I said before, I do think you've managed to 'steal' it at a very competitive price BUT if you list it on eBay as an auction, with almost 13% charges (eBay + Paypal), will you make $$ more??? I guess YES you might if you get a lot of interest from UK bidders and benefit from the exchange rate difference between the two currencies. Would you want to sell it for just $100 profit??

If it was never your true intention to buy it then liquidate your "unintentional investment" in the short term. Otherwise hang on to it.....its a nice coin to keep.

Thanks for your comments on the 1839 half sovereign. My next task is to design a tattoo then!!!:D;)
