Bait and switch! Bait and switch!! Just for that I am going to post a modern (new acquisition I like) right here, in the cool forum. So there. Leopold I (1657-1705), Holy Roman Empire. Thaler, 1698 KB (Kremnica, Slovakia).
I occasionally tire of seeing my own photographed face, even if it is a younger and somewhat better looking version from 13 years ago. So I sometimes switch things up and wear a different avatar, though I always go back to the old one eventually.
Hmm, children's drawings ... coins ... oh, I know what inspired you: Malta. Their second €2 commem for this year is from the "social responsibility coin programme involving students in all secondary schools". This year's theme is Solidarity and Peace. (Image: numismatica-visual.es) OK, enough of this, you may now go back to your regular avatar, hehe. Christian
Member "spacemonkey" on Collectors Universe (a photo editing and graphics genius like our @Deacon Ray is here) has a young daughter named Maddy Rae. She sent me that drawing based on my default "Holey Coin Hat" avatar. So of course I had to turn the Maddy Rae drawing into an alternate avatar.
I'll bet the little girl who drew that is a teenager in high school now. Being the parent of a high school teenage daughter, I predict Maddy Rae would roll her eyes if she saw her drawing being used as an avatar. Maybe make that light scoffing sound they're so good at. (Actually, Victoria is not like that... usually. She has to be subtler with her sarcasm. LOL)
