I am truly challenged when it comes to dealing with these. Fake or not?

Is that really a drachm? ~4g?

Thanks for the responses so far. It is one of those odd listings that says very little. Says the diameter is approximately 20 mm. Nothing SCREAMS fake to me, but then again, what do I know?

At 20 mm it's too big to be a drachm.

Whether it's authentic ancient or not I cannot say for sure. The fabric on the obverse looks a bit off to me.

Either way the style looks off to me for it to be from the Athens mint.

It might be an ancient imitation of an Athens Tetradrachm. Check out this link for examples of imitative issues.

More info on what the seller claims it is (mint, dates, weight etc.) would be helpful.

It's a tetradrachm, too big and wrong style for a drachm. Looks perfectly fine in the photo although a good cast is difficult to identify in a photo. It should weigh 16-17.2 grams. This would be a 4th century issue, not the more characteristically familiar 5th century issue.

Wow, thanks, I'll possibly buy it if it stays cheap.
