A pleasant surprise in change today

Desided to dump the nickels from last Friday (roll searching) into a coin star at the grocery store. (Sometimes I don't feel like waiting in line at the bank.)

Had $9.35 coming back to me and this was the five the store gave me. Now I have $1, $5, & $10 covered.

It's a little worn - but that's ok. I would love to find a run of $20's like RickieB's but the odds of that are a bit long :)...

Thanks RickieB, It's going right into a note holder and safe when I get home. It will join the other two or three star notes in there. Always love to get notes or coins that are uncommon in change. It brings a smile to my face!!! :D While I gave up 65 cents to the coin star, the note more than made up for it.

    I too got my first star note in change. It's a 2003 A $1. I also got a 1976 $10.

    Good find Darryl,

It points to a reason that I RARELY use Credit or Debit. THERE IS NO CASH INVOLVED!

I pay for most of my daily stuff in cash because first you have to get cash from the bank and then you get change. The more you see the better your chances of finding something worthwhile.

I haven't come across too many $5 star notes. Mainly I find $1's. I'd keep it. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks Pirata72, It's in the safe with the others :) . I look at a fair number of notes and this was the first for me. Not worth much over face but that's okay - it's a keeper.
