This was meant for the guy, who posted about a roll of 64' Cents. @Robert C. A cent that is full of lustre, almost free of carbon spots. A well done job, as far as the planchet goes. Still might only get a 66 but, I am Happy to have put this one under my lens. I provided two images under different settings for this coin, because both gave an honest interpretation of this coin. This is a 65, it is a little later die state than the last, but still a nice coin for the date. Notice all the carbon spots? They can be detrimental to the grade, by a third party TPG.
I feel some sort of chemical was applied to the surface to get that oil-slick on the reverse. The obverse just looks like many proofs do.
I like the coin, I think it should get the old RBOGPWPYB designation though. Red and brown just doesn't seem quite descriptive enough!
Looks like it was cut by something high pressure like water or laser. Now, I'll question your entire story of "finding" it and the validity of your postings if you really believe thats a "crack". What crack can make a turn and continue it's path without fracturing off into another direction or just stopping? Seriously?
