Hey guys want to get your opinion on abes nose here I'm trying to learn the call these on my own my first thought was wear but then when I started looking around at the face and the eyebrows and the cheeks I didn't see that kind of wear on the other parts of the coin so I appreciate any thoughts or comments on it zcamera-20170605_144516.jpg zcamera-20170605_144419.jpg

If you're talking about what appears to be the flat areas inside of the nose, it's likely from an over-polished die.

My God...he shot his nose off...actually I would think this is just an interesting filled die type of error. Correctly promoted could bring good bucks on e-bay.

You think so I thought it was pretty funny when I saw it and then I was just going to throw it in the bucket and I thought well what the heck I'll throw it up there on coin talk and see what they think about it never thought about selling it

Looks like some kind of "Struck Through" Error.

These are incredibly common across all denominations, and (should) bring no premium.

Well I appreciate it guys I personally after thousands of pennies that I've gone through I've never ran across one like that so I thought it was kind of unusual

Good learning tool/experience. Someone here quite some time back did up a board with all sorts of coins with explanations as to what they found them to be. Good for coin clubs and teaching newbies these different/unusual anomalies.

Well coin talk and you guys on here have been a real real big help to me cuz I had never dealt with coins before I retired and it was just something new to do it's been a lot of fun it's a little aggravating to of course I never knew just how many different type errors there where until I bought the books but they get it right a lot more than they get it a wrong that's for sure but maybe here in the near future I'll be able to give some advice instead of always asking
