I say keep it, if everyone was Augustus or Julius Caesar then it would get too confusing. Related question: I have sold the coin that is featured in my avatar photo (as part of my big sale through CNG in April). Should I change my avatar to a coin I still own, or is it okay to keep showing what is now someone else's coin?
Well, I'm certainly not Bing Cosby........ Use what you want. I mean some around here change avatars more often than they change underwear.
I prefer avatars that have some connection to the person but also believe that what you select tells something about you so the rest of us should just let you have your way. As far as photos go, photos do not necessarily change ownership when you sell the coin. While almost all sellers have absolutely no problem with buyers using their images of the coins they purchased, technically, one should ask. I have photos that I believe are worth more than the coins in them but no one wants to pay me for my photos any more than for my coins.
stevex has a maple leaf avatar i'm particularly appealing, but the that gordian iii scuplute is pretty cool.
I think our avatar's are fine the way they are. I would change my avatar to one of Julia Domna, but I wouldn't want people thinking I'm a girl. lol
If the coin isn't yours anymore, as long as you've taken it yourself, the picture still is, I guess. Q
