    Here are two croissants from my collection:

    The first, an AE Uncia from the Roman Republic, 217-215 B.C., Crawford 39/4. This is part of the so-called "collateral semilibral struck bronze series with ROMA" a rather enigmatic series of coins containing many never-to-be-repeated types. It was part of the semilibral reduction and eventual abandonment of cast bronze coinage (aes grave) brought on by the Second Punic War This coin is ex RBW Collection.

    My second crescent is an Hadrian (117-138AD) AR Denarius of the Roman Empire.
