Here are two croissants from my collection: The first, an AE Uncia from the Roman Republic, 217-215 B.C., Crawford 39/4. This is part of the so-called "collateral semilibral struck bronze series with ROMA" a rather enigmatic series of coins containing many never-to-be-repeated types. It was part of the semilibral reduction and eventual abandonment of cast bronze coinage (aes grave) brought on by the Second Punic War This coin is ex RBW Collection. My second crescent is an Hadrian (117-138AD) AR Denarius of the Roman Empire.

I like that coin @stevex6. Very choice surfaces and a simple, yet bold design. Here is my only horsey. Since you like washers and crescents so much, here is a combination of the two. Look above the hole on the reverse.
Great coin, Steve-O, and very fitting for your Thessaly-heavy collection! I have no crescents to share .
Congrats @stevex6 !!!---Another cool coin!! Love all the posts guys!!! Just to pile on, I'll throw in a bronze of Diadumenian with a crescent reverse...
This Commodus/Alexandria 4dr will qualify if you hold your thumb over that woman trying to upstage the real star ....or rather crescent. Commodus Alexandria by dougsmit posted Jun 1, 2017 at 3:10 PM
