Ok, this happened to me this week.....

    I bought a mixed lot,11 Lincolns including a 12-S for $18.25

I get coins, no 12-S, I email seller, he says get a 30X loupe lol. I say I have a roll of 12-s's and know what they look like, I'll send back for refund.

Seller agrees. Seller emails tonight..." I looked and saw a "S" with my loupe. I'll refund less $2.00

$2 flippin dollars. Grrrrrrrrrr, the point to me, not the $2. I emailed back , said no $2 was mentioned when offered refund, awaiting email.

If this guy keeps the $2 what do ya do? I cannot stand ebay crooks or misleaders, biggest pet peeve in my world.

I think just buying from coin shows is the way to go

If you paid through paypal, I'd file a complaint. The seller sounds rude and inconsiderate, and owes you a full refund, including return shipping IMO.

Postage would not be refunded IF I just did not like the coins...there was NO 12-S in the lot...

He took the $2 of the selling price beyond postage anyways. I don't mean to be a pain, but I would never even dream of doing that to a buyer from my seller acount, nor do I expect it.

Thats how I do it. Still, that is ridiculous, and unethical...pretty common for ebay.

Knock him through paypal, if not a credit card charge-back.

I agree, it isn't the $2 it is the point of the transaction.
These sellers think that they can do what ever they want to do and we'll take it.

Time to put a stop to it.

Good luck with that Jack. I hope everything turns out in your favor. I've never really had any bad experiences with Ebay. Although, I dont use Paypal, I've heard of too many bad experiences with it.

Paypal is easy, use a CC. If paypal says no to you just call your CC company and dispute the charge. They almost always side with you. Just make sure you send the coins/whatever you bought back. There is not much they can do. My father had to to do this several times back when I was still lviing at home.

Don't get your panties all in a wad. Let it go. If that's your biggest concern in life, then you got it good. Let out all of your frustration here in the forum with your cronies then man up and move on. Life is to short to whine over the edited that cross our paths. What goes around comes around and they will get theirs.

I agree just got 8 1996 unc sets with the 1996-W dime at show yesterday
    Only paid 14.00 each

When you buy on E-Bay you should know the risks. You can buy from other collectors at a better price then E-bay

That is the proper way to proceed.

If it was a PAYPAL payment they have already taken ALL your money from the seller from his account ( OR bank account if it is attached )

If no communication from the seller at this point is BAD for him. After 7 days escalate to a claim.

    Good Luck

Escalated to claim last night, seller obviously had me on ignore status.

Recieved full refund this morning and a nasty note from seller, saying they cooperated fully ( they didn't) . Episode over, money and item both returned.

Did you wake up on the wrong side of the bed or the floor?

If you don't like Jack and his "cronies" why even comment?

Talk about etiquette - yours is apparantly sadly lacking.

When you buy on ebay, you should get what you pay for in a courteous and professional manner. You do when you buy from me at least.

If you do not, there are means of protecting yourself from crooks, Paypal disputes are one of them.
