A couple of days ago I spotted a fake Daniel Carr on Ebay, I emailed him and it's been removed. Today, I'm on ebay again and blamo! Another fake Daniel Carr. If you support creativity and the works of Daniel Carr then let's try to keep these fake sellers off. BTW, I just tried to email Daniel but his website looks like it's down.

Yup. That's the fake "diseased bird" Amero alright. Good eye

He's not calling it a Daniel Carr or Moonlight Mint creation though so I'm not sure it technically violates ebays intellectual property rules. Maybe Dan has a the rights to the word Amero as it relates to a coin or token though

Don't you hate it when someone makes a knock off of a real thing and tries to profit off of it? They should've at least put initials in there or something to clarify that they copied someone else's original design!

:troll: Okay, I admit it, I couldn't help myself. To be honest, I don't think any Carr fans have a right to be upset about this one; I do not see the seller attempting to sell this as a Carr coin (unless Carr trademarked/copyrighted the word Amero, then my statement is nullified and they have every right to be upset).

Carr may not have a trademark/copyright on the word Amero, but he does have a copyright on the design.

It is my understanding that the "diseased bird" is a variation of that design and thus not the same design. Kind of like some of Carr's designs that are copies of other unmentionable designs...?

Dan alone owns the rights to his designs while the designs of his overstrike series are in the public domain as they were bought and paid for with tax payer dollars and belong to every American citizen. BIG difference

Turns out I can't print my own dollar bills even though my tax dollars paid for them. I'll agree to disagree and ask you to stop before this gets out of hand.

That makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. It's an apples to, I dunno, orange-flavored Tang comparison. Nice try though I guess. You at least earn a participation trophy.

Tang reminds me of Boy Scouts 30 years ago. Next let's bring a Sanka comparison into the thread!

    V. Kurt Bellman Yes, I'm blunt! Get over your "feeeeelings".

The federal government cannot own a copyright BY LAW. Daniel Carr can and does. You may lament that fact all you like, but it remains a fact.

Double Jeapordy question... Do you know what SANKA is an abbreviation of?

    (No Googling!)
