I recently received my 2017 uncirculated mint set which I specifically purchased for the Lincoln penny with the P mint mark. After some initial disappointment at what appeared to be a weak strike I noticed what appears like a partial letter between the S in states and O in of...I was wondering what you think. Is this a mint error?
Okay, I know it isn't impressive in pics but it is a raised area among that gets washed out by significant horizontal scrapping...I have attached a couple more images hoping that someone can tell me what it could be... The first is just another slightly closer image under better light to show the area is raised. The next two are under 30x magnification. One has red dots added where I see "patterning" but I'm no expert and my eyes aren't the greatest.
