Fake or real Dixie Note?

    I was going to sell this 1860 Citizens Bank of Louisiana Dixie Note on here, but decided it would be better to see if it real or not. It doesn't have the red ink that many other Dixie notes have and the toned edges look too uniform, so it seems fake. EDIT: Maybe this should be moved to the paper currency section.

    Unfortunately it looks like a fake. Heavier "parchment" paper? Toning, all are commonly seen among fakes.

    Genuine specimens are dark pink and black. Your piece is a repro. :(

    If you look really closely there should be a "replica" or "copy" printed somewhere

    You'd think so, but not being there doesn't mean it's real.
