It's probably been done before.....but are we allowed to name the better coin dealers on eBay in an attempt to protect existing and future members?
There are a ton of good dealers on Ebay. I would wager that the good ones far outnumber the bad. Take a look at a person's inventory, prices, and feedback, and you can probably get a pretty good idea if they are reputable or not.
I agree. But there are some dealers who stand out from the crowd, not only for their honesty but also communication, flexibility and exemplary services. I , for one, would not hesitate to recommend the following as a start: jonblyth filmoedas1988 coins_1958 I feel that a loosely compiled database might help members and newbies alike.
I was hesitant to post this, since I kinda wanted to keep the guy all to myself. He's the seller from whom I've been buying many of my Canadian Large Cents, but that's only a small part of his offerings. He has stuff from all over the world, and by and large they're premium pieces. His images are excellent and faithful - in my opinion - to the actual look of the coin, he answers messages quickly and completely, and knows how to secure a coin for shipping. I cannot more highly recommend someone than this seller. And he does currency and philately too. http://www.ebay.com/usr/coinsandcurrency4u
I've dealt a couple of times recently with Atlas Numismatics. They have higher end material, and the prices are strong (to be fair, the material is strong as well), but they are willing to deal, they have great customer service, and they ship quickly.
