Was wondering if anyone has seen a 1944 penny with this defect?

it looks like a curved clip. A clearer close up full photo of both obv. and reverse would be helpful.

That's a neat error (clip), but probably won't add tremendous value. Certainly worth keeping, though!

Nice find. The thing is noone can say for sure how many of these where made.
So I can't say how rare it is to have one.So it is only worth what someone will give you for it. And some people really like them. It is a Keeper.
It would be nice if you would post a photo of both sides, Cropped, and full size image so someone could check for "Blakesley Effect"

Did that one post? I thought I had a pick of both sides. We also found a 1943 steel penny which I thought was neat too.

I could not see any Blacksley effect on your coin, most likely due to thumbnail size.
But it still looks like a mint error clipped planchet.
Does your 1943 have a clip in it?

I thought it was pretty neat myself! It's my first find so it really intrigued me. Thanks for your help as well.
