Hey guys I haven't ran across any of these would you take a look at the columns on the back side of the coin and give me your opinion on those what you think I remember seeing one on the internet but I didn't have any luck finding one preciate it
I'm not sure what you're seeing, but that coin looks like it got run over a few times in a parking lot. It is hard to tell much past that.
I was wondering that myself jason, but waited to see if maybe I was unaware of some kind of error that existed for these. Just looks like a post mint damaged coin to me.
Well what I was indicating was the second column from the left is completely over half filled in and you're right it does look like it's been run over by a truck and I know I've seen that but I couldn't remember what to call it I'm just trying to educate myself in the future so when I see it then I know what it is I found something like it in the book it wasn't as filled as this one and they called it a d/d/o if I remember correctly
Well that may be something different. Maybe a grease fill in that spot. Btw, a ddo would be the obverse of the coin. Double Die Obverse (DDO).
Yeah I believe you're right I believe that's what I saw but I just couldn't remember hey I really appreciate it thank you
hard to tell from pics but if there is extra metal or a "lump" of metal inside the column then its could be an interior die break....
The reason I asked that was because I did take a toothpick and dig at it and it's solid metal and I'd previously spoke with somebody and he was talking about it being Grease field which made sense to me but since then like I said I dug out it with a toothpick and it will not chip it solid
