I've been going through some Israeli coins this evening, most from the 1960-80s. Numismaster lists, for example, the 1961 25 Agorot as being minted in both Berne and Tela Aviv. But I can find nothing on this coin which looks anything like a mintmark. Does anyone know how to determine the mint from Israeli coins of this era?
Krause shows a mintmark in the obverse field to the right of the lyre, near the rim. @Zohar444 seems to know a good bit about the coins of Israel, he may be able to help.
Thanks. Perhaps my coin does not have one by default, which raises the question of what is the default mint if there is no mintmark (like P in USA).
I missed your date statement in your original post. This is from 1961? According to Krause, both (b) and (t) were minted without mintmark in 1961. Thus, it is impossible to tell its exact location. These are both listed as KM#27. Show us pictures, and someone may be able to tell you more info.
Thanks, but these are just low value coins I was looking at. Investing time in creating images probably is not worth it based on the above comment: I will just accept that it is not possible to figure out and go onto some other coins. This was just a load of coins I got in bulk and was curious, but I am not going to invest a lot of time in it. I just thought that perhaps I was being stupid and there was a simple answer.
