Happy Anniversary, Fitz! I will remember this thread as where I found the term for what we can now call 'The Drift'. Exactly how all that went down will be a memory for those of us who made it happen. I had been a CT member for a little while but found it boringly modern. When you want to liven up a party, bring friends.

Okay, I have photographed the two Coins I received recently - both Provincials (gonna be a while before the medieval coin shows up...)

    Provincial Rome - Thrace
    Caracalla, r. 198-217 A.D.
    Hadrianopolis, AE 26, 25.88 x 11 grams
Obv.: AVT K M AVR CE ANTΩNEINOC. Laureate bust right
Rev.: AΔRIANO-ΠOΛEITΩN. Pan standing right, with horns and legs of goat, holding crook next to head and lionskin fleece over left arm, left foot on panther lying on its back
    Ex. DC Collections

Seems to me someone posted a similar reverse lately, but I can't recall who... (maybe it was Warren since I bought the coin from him...). The other acquisition:

    Provincial Rome - Cilicia
    Caracalla, r. 198-217 A.D.
Tarsus, AE Tetrassarion, 35.12 mm x 19.1 grams; Obv.: AΥT KAI M AYP CEYEPOC ANTΩNEINOC. Bust right, in robes of demiourgos, Π left and right
Rev.: ANTΩNEINIANH CEYHP AΔPIA. Emperor standing left, sacrificing over altar, wearing toga, A/M/K left, Γ/B right, TAPCOY/ΛN in exergue

So, a pair of chunky bronzes...

    Congrats @FitzNigel for the anniversary.

I've been a member here for almost 12 years now, but have to confess having much much more fun since a certain group of naughty guys arrived here like a plague of locusts (thus posting ten times more...)

Congrats on your two year anniversary FitzNigel, I have enjoyed your comments and posts in my short (compared to most) eleven months on CT.

Thanks guys - it's been fun to have a nice group to talk coins with. Lord knows my wife isn't interested, and I can't have real conversations with my students (but maybe my planned assignment may change that...)

Thanks for the link @TIF - I was trying to find that thread and was failing!
