    Wow, some really nice examples of Germanicus in this thread. I'm waiting for the right one to come along.

    That is a very nice example of one of my favorite Julio-Claudian coins. I wish I wouldn't have sold my specimen. Here is the only pic I have of it:

    The mounting was an ill-fated experiment of mine to create an attractive coin show display of my Julio-Claudian coins -- it didn't work. The complete display took up too much room, it wasn't attractive, the cards took too long to make up -- and I didn't like it anyway!

    Very nice coins indeed -- especially the quadriga coin. I posted a pic of my specimen (or rather the one I once owned) previously. I have always admired the coins of this period for their stately and elegant Inscriptional lettering -- a bonus collecting attribute for me. Here is a pic of my portrait coin similar to yours (that, unfortunately, I also no longer own).
