I have refunded many payments to those who thought they received a non-genuine coin. If there are any others, just contact me and I will arrange for a refund. I never meant any harm, and I am not perfect. I am new to coin collecting, and perhaps I started selling before I should have. Either way, we will work things out. Thank you. And my sincere apologies, I don't mean to start trouble like this. The coin business is obviously not for me. I'd just like to settle this and move on with my life. Thank you.
If you are new to collecting, you have come to one fo the best, if not the best sources for information on just about anythign involoving coins or currency. Stick around and join us!
I won't be sticking around. Assuming the refunds are done, I never wish to have anything to do with coins again. I don't want to rip anyone off, I just want to give them their refund and be done with it. I never want to discuss anything about coins ever again. And Scanner, I have offered you a refund 20-30 times on what is almost certainly a genuine coin, and you won't take my offer. What's going on?
A noble gesture king_o_coins. You should stick around though and you could learn a lot. There are people here that have been collecting for 50 years that still learn new things. If you decide not to may I suggest that you REALLY look into your next venture? May be worth it in the long run. clembo P.S. Might I also suggest losing the small print?
What's fair is fair. I never sold a counterfeit coin intentionally. With my knowledge of coins, I am not certified to be able to tell the difference anyway. There were a couple I was 50/50 on deciding, but I wasn't sure. But I have refunded almost all of them. If there are any more, please just respond. I have decided it is not in anyone's best interest for me to sell coins. For God's sake, we have people thinking that I artificially tone coins, I don't even know where to start with that.
My apologies.... I have read all the posts, reviewed feedbacks and have decided that you, King O Coins, are the true victim here. I will not assume because a coin on Ebay went from dip/shiny to rainbow in 2 weeks that it was artificial.
A winner never quits and a quitter never wins . i see you have been burnt but you can choose to scatter your ashes in the air or rise like the phoenix its upto you. i wish you the best and hopefully someday the passion for coins will come back to you.
I might have actually bought that whole story, if it weren't for instances such as this: http://ads.auctionads.com/pagead/li...m/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=330147269044 In which the seller clearly ststes he's almost certain the coin is a replica. We see the same coin sold here: http://ads.auctionads.com/pagead/li...m/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=190130205111 ...with this attatched: For someone who claims to have no knowledge of coins, it seems pretty irresponsible to claim and guarantee that a coin is genuine and then make a thousand dollars profit on it. If this were an isolated instance, I might even overlook it somewhat, but it's not. We don't place warning labels on people for no reason. Guy~
Regardless of how the pictures look, I have never artificially toned a coin, I don't know how, that's plain and simple. And as stated, refunds are available to those seeking one. I do not even know how to discern an artificially toned coin from a naturally toned coin. Either way, I am done selling and buying coins of any kind. This will end and I will leave the business.
Kudos to you for stepping up to the plate and trying to make things right. It shows a lot of character that you would come to our forum and post. I hope that your future endeavors fare much better than your coin venture.
you are an honorable man. i only hope more dealers were like you ,then the coin business would be less risky. good luck in your future endeavors.
Sorry if I am out of line king_o_coins, but you have an EXTENSIVE collection for someone who is new to the game. Even so, I'm willing to give you the benefit of the doubt on this one. For you to come to a forum where your "cons" have been chronicled and try to clear your name shows b****. Most would have taken the money and said to hell with any explanation. Jasn
Coin collecting is a lot of fun but when you make it a business it loses some of the aspects that made it fun in the first place. I understand if K-O-O doesn't want to sell coins anymore but if I were you I'd seriously consider keeping the hobby and staying with cointalk to learn as much as you can. You sound like a pretty honest guy to me.
Theoretical situation only: A person with a track record a year long of adding mintmarks, selling known fakes, whizzing coins, charging restock fees who GETS CAUGHT and offered jail or refunds, picks refunds AFTER getting caught.... Now there is an honorable person !!!! Remember, make believe situation only, any resemblance to any person or persons is simply coincidence. If this were a not a theoretical story, there would be MUCH MORE behind the scenes that would not known by all here.
Oh, well, another eBayer bites the dust. I do wish him well in any future endeavors, that do not involve coins.
