Here's another '38-D Buffalo Nickel to guess the grade on. I came across this one on eBay and have to have it. Why are these gold toned '38-D's so addictive? The bonus was when it arrived, it is an unattributed D/D RPM#2
I'm nasty tonight, so I'll just keep my peace..........Blast I'm PO'd......pay no mind Justin. Just an old boy letting off a bit of steam.
Oh I know how it can be... I've been there several times. It's odd, because now I see what you are seeing. It has a bit of a pinkish hue to it. The coin is a buttery gold in hand though. My eye's may have been tired when I was editing it.
I see what you are seeing in the image. There is no trace of wear in hand though. I think I am just having an off night for shooting and editing tonight. Maybe I'll give it another stab tomorrow with fresh eyes.
Attractive and lustrous, but a little mushy. The 38-D is easily found in premium gem so I think this one just misses. I say MS65.
I might have had a few to many Coors light! brought to you by Coors light and for the most part "the Mile High Spirit"
Here's a couple more images. Not much different, this one's tough to capture the luster visible in hand.
That is not a rim ding, it's actually part of the plastic collar that surrounds the coin. It's a PCGS Rattler.
I was looking at one like this on the bay....kept thinking probably under graded for the time period .
