Excellent. I love the story. I think I'll borrow that when I sell my next handful of pocket change. Just toss in a few buffalo nickels and some well worn barbers and it should work.

    Thanks for the idea.

However, he did include a Morgan $ and 4 American silver eagles.

The four silver eagles, the morgan, and the FE cent even in good, should make the $73 easy.

Well, all in all - my point was this - this was an ad posted in our coin talk open forum. The rules are that the person must have 'x' number of posting / contributions here - yet when you check the seller it was all about trying to sell his coins in the non open forum, for which he was edited by the mods (good) but the other miniumum posts were basically welcoming new members.

Definitely I'm thankful for all the 'informed / good / sharing' members of this forum, this is absolutely my favorite coin reference online. Great folks, good stuff. I just fear the newbie going 'well, if the seller can post on CT - it must be good stuff...' In my opinion it takes advantage of the reputation maintained here. Like, selling fake diamonds at Tiffany's or something.. I dunno. Maybe it's just me.

I know the forum mods do a great job of keeping the riff raff under control ~ and the rest of the folks take care of the others that slip through. I think I'm reacting to my own feeling of 'geez... and this link came from CT... now what...?'

Ok.. enough. I'll hush. I promise.

They seemed to be very nice.
I got the impression that they may have been elderly.
I don't think there was any malicious intent and it isn't likely they read the CoinTalk rules very well.
    I know I didn't read them.
    :D

That was a pretty decent lot there, too.
If you look at the bids, there are a few CoinTalk folk on there.
    ;)

I was a bidder, 54.88. I bid on a lot of auctions but win very few. i like it that way. If I win an auction , I usually get it for a great price.

HMMM. Reminds me of what my Dad said about one of his bosses named Al Capone.
