I seem to have fallen into the ancients recently and haven't bought many medievals. I'm sure I'll get back to them at some point. Anyway, just managed to photograph this Caracalla denarius which came in the mail about a week ago:
    Anc-08b-R3-k0199-Caracalla-DE-28.jpg
    Imperial Rome
    Caracalla, r. 198-217 A.D. (199 A.D.)
Rome Mint, AR Denarius, 18.96 mm x 3.76 grams
Obv.: IMP CAE M AVR ANT AVG P TR P II. Laureate, draped bust right
Rev.: SPES PVBLICA. Spes advancing left holding flower and raising hem of skirt
    Ref.: RIC IV-1 Caracalla 28, p. 216

Looks like I may need to take another photo of the reverse. It looks a little out of focus... here are his friends:

Nice addition @FitzNigel ! Keep pounding at those Ancients! LOL, just stay away from the BCE ones, I like to play in that sandbox a little more. :)

I only have one Caracalla, and I do have his wife also...

IMO, a basic Caracalla collection requires four coins:
    Rome mint Young Caesar
    rm6510bb0493.jpg
    Laodicea Young
    rm6590bb0417.jpg
    Rome under 10 Augustus
    rm6640bb0369.jpg
    Rome teen
    rm6680bb0978.jpg
    Rome adult
    rm6750bb0104.jpg
Did I say 4? How about bronzes (gold?), Provincials (how many cities?) etc. ?????

    Caesar sestertius
    rm6580b00126alg.jpg
Young Rome AE as (Liber and Hercules)
    rm6810bb0990.jpg
    Adult Alexandria

    Caesarea Caesar drachm
    pm1370b01493.JPG
    Beroea adult tetradrachm
    pm1380bb1044.jpg

Counting never was my strong suite.
