Do you think this 1972 is a doubled die

    I have been trying to find an example of this but dont seem to have luck. Or is this just a wickedly nice machine double? Thanks for any and all that respond

    Yes to Machine or Mechanical Doubling :dead:

    I was able to capture a picture of mechanical doubling on a quarter, it is very difficult for me to tell sometimes too. Notice the A and the M in America. You can even see slide marks on the doubling of the M.

    the coin in the op looks like a nice example of machine or shelf doubling.

    I appreciate everyones comments the 72 is known for doubled dies so wanted to make sure before making a mistake
