The initials " FG " on back of coin are far, but is fair to say " AM " is " Wide AM " on this coin? Thank You!

no, its a close am...the spacing is nothing like the rest of America...and "FG" is the marker.. if its wide then the "AM" is close..

Thank You, I appreciate that the initials are wide, but if you look close at it, lets disregard the initials for a moment would you say there is a gap, small but it is there between "AM" yes or no Thanks!

There will always be a small gap between the lettering but not enough to be the variety.

where I get confused is when you find a Close "AM" has to be touching but is there a written rule for Wide "AM" how far the space should be

Compare a "wide AM" to a "close AM". See the clear difference in the spacing between the M and E? Perhaps try this instead of worrying about touching and un-touching, which can vary.

Don't get fixated on the gap between the feet of the A and M. The width of that gap can vary depending on whether the die has been polished and how much it has been polished.

What I do is just take a quick casual glance at the AME as a whole. If your FIRST impression is that the M is centered between the A and E it's a WAM. If your first impression is that the M is crowded over by the A it's a CAM
