Maybe these are dumb questions, but: If it's a contest for CT forum members, what's wrong with posting the information here at CT instead of asking us to go to an unknown web page? If it's a contest for some other group, why post anything about it here?
hontonni: He said it here: "Ok, the whole point of this contest is to lure people to this forum. " I'm in at any rate.
yes, it is official! There will be a ms64 1882 $3 gold piece in the prize along with a even GREATER gift donated my Cody!!! All I can garentee about the the gold coin is that it is gold.
You gotta post on that forum though, thats the catch. And yes there really will be a 3 dollar gold piece. and yes it is REAL GOLD. You just gotta join, DJ's forum, and make 40 posts.
Well, i wast just going to give credit to DJ, but since we are spreding credit around, i did an @$$ load of advertising for it, so i think its 1/4 yours, 1/4 mine, and 1/2 DJ's. Sorry Colin, you didn't do enough =P
We've been through this before Nelson and it's getting kind of old. It was just as much my idea as yours and I was the one carried it out and did all of the work of setting up the forum and getting it running. I know you and Cody helped with advertising...btw, were you ever able to get us listed under CoinWorld clubs? Annnnyyyyways, everyone is welcome to join our forum at the following link (especially YN's, but ON's are welcome too): http://www.freepowerboards.com/yncc/
Didn't notice that. Hmmm, seems coinworld isn't as friendly a place as Numismatic News. Didn't have to wait more than 5 minutes for a reply there. Thanks Nelson.
Have the rules changed? I always thought the rules of this forum prohibited trying to get people to move to another forum. Frankly, I don't understand why CT members should care who gets the most credit for forming a competing forum.
It is not a competing forum. And Cointalk members have not sworn an oath to only be members here last I checked. YNCC was made to be a forum for YN's. I am by no means trying to get members to leave CT.
My use of a couple other forums formed by CT members hasn't reduced my use of cointalk whatsoever. However, I think advertising would have been more appropriate in the "open" section, than the "contest" section. Not a big deal though.
It sure has been this week. I think it's due to school, we have a lot of work. But I make a good effort to get on during business class.
