    Very nice youthfull looking Claudius Evan8, have a few, 2015-01-07 01.08.12-7.jpg my favorite Constantia Rome circa 50 AD, As 11.2gm, 27mm. RIC I 95.

    Can you explain the date 'year 90'? I went looking on past CNG sales and found a couple marked 97AD but with no explanation. I see nothing that suggests it was an issue half a century after Claudius lived so I would have expected some clue in the listings.

    I have one with a similar dark, glossy appearance. Some of these were really chunky! 16.4g, 25mm.

    I'm guessing this was a typo and "97" refers to Year 97 of the Caesarean Era (= AD 48/49). However, I've no idea how catalogers would have even dated these since I don't see dates on any of the SC types, but some other issues of the city such as this one and this one showed dates by Caesarean Era year.
