I came across this in my father's collection and couldn't find what this could A:be classified as, and
B: if this could be of value

Hopefully I can get some input. New to the site and excited to explore my coins and learn about errors.

That's a damaged coin. It looks like someone pounded on its edge with a hammer, or squeezed it with pliers. It doesn't have extra value (beyond its sentimental value to you); in fact, it may not even be worth a cent, because machines that are expecting cents won't accept it.

Sorry your first post here didn't confirm a treasure; I hope you'll post some more of what you're finding. Welcome to CoinTalk!

Also to not start a new thread... did I make the mistake of putting my full name? It seems I can't make a username. Any suggestions appreciated. Excited to get into this community

Not sure, but think whenever you make a user name, you're stuck with it. Perhaps an administrator could help you with this. Shouldn't be too much trouble if you don't give your e-mail. Welcome to CT, regardless.

Looks like you ended up with two different profiles: this one with your full name and the other one with a shortened username based upon it.
