These beauties will be for sale in Chicago soon. I would love to own one of these. Esp. The Julius Caesar. They supposedly came from Toledo Museum of Art.

The following came from an email I just got.

"This sale has 481 ancient coins which includes additional coins from the Bill Behnen Collection of Trajan Decius and Family not offered in Gemini, 48 world coins & 123 antiquities which includes the leftovers from the Toledo Sale.

The Toledo Sale was a recent project between HJB and Toledo Museum of Art. Below is a link to an article from the Toledo newspapers describing the project. The Toledo pieces, which make up this part of the buy or bid sale, will be offered on-line only. There are still many amazing pieces left of this historical offering.

    Toledo Blade Article "

Just so everyone knows I will be assisting a friend with a disability in his purchase of some sort of coin he wants depicting Domicletian (sp), but I have no connection to HJB in Chicago, other than being a loyal customer.

FYI, only the antiquities are from the Toledo museum. The coins are from various other sources; none of the coins are from Toledo.

There are some nice Cypriot antiquities in that sale from the infamous Cesnola collection, I believe.
