Lincoln's missing a big chunk of his shoulder. What kind of error is this?

Can you retake the pic but use full size not thumb nail?

Zoom in and you'll see it very clearly. There's a major "chunk" missing from his collar just to the right of the Y. Collar under chin looks messed up too

A cropped full size photp would be helpful.

Can you see it if you hit "edit"? I can, but it won't post up

It looks like it might be a struck through. Better, tightly cropped, photos are needed to confirm.

Garlicus Debt is dumb, cash is king.

I'm guessing a grease filled die. Can't really see the coin, though.

If you click on the thumbnail, the pic will be enlarged. In the upper right corner of the enlargement, clicking on the diagonal arrow will open the pic in a new window to an even larger pic.

Interesting. Since it is incused into the Cent then it is a Strike Through issue.

That was struck through debris. Nice find, but I don't think it gives it any extra value.

I think its cool...it actually looks like his jacket got shredded and you can see the back of his neck underneath! Cool find!

These are very cool. I found 20 in a 25 dollar box and know of 5 others, this being the 6th one shown above. I sent some off to a well known coin expert and was told the back of the neck looks like a die chip and the balance is from some kind of a die cap problem.

I will have five on display at the Fun Show in Tampa next week. The last comment the person made was that there being so many is very rare. So, maybe there is something to it.

I nicked named it the “Lincoln Assasination Coin” because the back of the neck looks like an entry wound and the front the exit splatter. Sorry, kind of gross. I am not a numismatic and found out that nicknames were frowned upon. I am keeping the nickname any way. Haha

Maybe next week something will come of it?
