Zoom in and you'll see it very clearly. There's a major "chunk" missing from his collar just to the right of the Y. Collar under chin looks messed up too

For a 'scraped die', wouldn't they appear more like gouges (raised), and not incuse, or am I not seeing it right?
I think its cool...it actually looks like his jacket got shredded and you can see the back of his neck underneath! Cool find!
These are very cool. I found 20 in a 25 dollar box and know of 5 others, this being the 6th one shown above. I sent some off to a well known coin expert and was told the back of the neck looks like a die chip and the balance is from some kind of a die cap problem. I will have five on display at the Fun Show in Tampa next week. The last comment the person made was that there being so many is very rare. So, maybe there is something to it. I nicked named it the “Lincoln Assasination Coin” because the back of the neck looks like an entry wound and the front the exit splatter. Sorry, kind of gross. I am not a numismatic and found out that nicknames were frowned upon. I am keeping the nickname any way. Haha Maybe next week something will come of it?
