2005 Nickel with no face, Oregon Coast back

I found this coin going through some change today. It appears that the face side was not stamped or only partially stamped. The back is pretty worn, but I was able to determine that it is a 2005 Jefferson nickel with Oregon coast on the back. Is this coin a real error, or is it possible that someone was able to grind off the face? I appreciate any feedback you can provide.

    Blurry pictures

I'll see if I can take some clearer pictures. Of course, the obvious question - would PMD give it any value?

Is that machined off side featuring a raised center point? I've seen people use those to spin on a flat table. Looks cool.

    Purposely turned on a lathe.

I updated the photos to get them clearer.

You can post all of the photos you want. The answer will always be that the face of your coin was removed using a lathe. It is not a mint error. Like clapping with one hand, a coin with one face is impossible to mint.

The nickel is PMD, as stated.

You can have a enface strike on a coin, if there
is a 2nd planchet in the striking collar when the
dies come together. One piece will have a normal
Obv. and a enface (blank) reverse, and the other
piece will be just the opposite.

In 99.96% of the time, those found by collectors
    are the machined/damaged/lathe pieces -

Makes sense. I appreciate the insight. Just a nickel, after all!

Actually, it's not quite a nickel since some of it was removed.

(sorry for the bad joke)

It would be better if you opened your own thread some people consider this has high jacking someone's post. Yours appears to be PMD.
