Is this a Vam ??

    IMG_2340.PNG IMG_2341.PNG IMG_2339.JPG IMG_2336.JPG IMG_2337.PNG IMG_2335.JPG IMG_2335.JPG I have a 1921 Morgan Silver Dollar and the reverse by the tail has a raise straight line by it and does anyone know if this is a variety Vam or something ? And no it isn't a scratch because it is raised. I have some pictures on it. IMG_2337.PNG

    I used to have about 150 UNC 1921 (PDS) Morgans, but the first time I saw the VAM lists, I sold all of them.

    Spiked Tail Feather, VAM-3A. Look to the L and R in DOLLAR to determine die state, looks EDS.

    Thanks SuperDave. Are mostly the Vam's come out from 1921 because there seems to be a lot of 1921 Morgan coins with Vam.

    "VAM" is the term describing all Morgan varieties, and the endgame of the effort is to describe every single coin. Perfectly nominal coins as well as those showing unique features. It is with this in mind that you hear people say - accurately - that "all Morgans are VAMs." With a little knowledge and sometimes luck, you should be able to identify any Morgan you own by an existing VAM designation. If not, conclusively, then you will receive credit for finding a new VAM.

    The Devil, unfortunately, is in the details. :)
