I'm absolutely astounded. I picked up $80 in MWRs halves from 3 different banks tonight after work. Over the last 3 years I have looked through at least 30 boxes worth of this style MWR and found zero silver coins. I have found only 1 impaired proof from these rolls in this timeframe with absolutely nothing else remarkable.

Tonight, expecting zero finds as usual, I opened the 6th roll and found 2, '64s sitting obverse to obverse!

I'm shocked...speechless...It's truly a coin roll hunting miracle!

An otherwise lackluster box of BWR Nickels yielded 3 Buffalos!

The 1915 is the only one with a visible date, but the one coin has a raised ground reverse, so that's a 1913.

The two nickel rolls gave me about 20-25 fills once I get flips and a longer box for them. Oldest was 1964P.
Upgraded a few pennies. About to be asleep.

Bought a roll of Mercury dimes... got a good assortment of circulated and near uncirculated dimes. The one I'm showing though is the one that made my day. 1941/42 P

Did you buy it for face value from a teller or via some other method?

Via some other method. Is this thread talking about rolls in general or simply rolls exclusively from banks?

"Roll searching" implies that you got the rolls at face value from a teller, either loose coins, rolls, rolls in a box, or rarely, in a bag.

Guess that, now that we know this roll was acquired differently, there is no need to move or remove @Will It Collect? 's post. :)

Going through rolls today. Got a very nice 82D &P CLD and a pretty nice 82D CSD. Another beautiful 70s date I can't remember.

Oh! I didn't realize this. It's good to know. That makes, like, 7 things I learned on here today! Same for the term "roll hunting" I imagine?

So, searching a roll of wheat cents that were supposedly never searched, I came across this Indian head cent that intrigued me because it sort of looked like a dd on the profile around the lips but not on the neck. Led me to suspect it is only grime build up. But on the reverse it looks like it has a die crack. Or is that simply some other kind of damage?

Also, I found this really bright silver colored 1943 steel cent.

Nice haul! Those Aussie pennies are very cool, never knew they made them that large, especially that deep into the 20th century.

I got 6 rolls of nickels and 6 of pennies.
Almost one full roll out of all 6 gave me more fills waiting on flips and a box.
    Also this came out....

Also a pedestrian 1998 Canadian nickels.

Yaaay! I found my first silver coin!
When I search customer rolled cents I frequently find a dime in there. Perhaps that happens once every 20 rolls I search. I usually just set those dimes aside. I finally made time to review them last night hoping I would find a 2009; but, I found this instead! I am so excited. (Okay, so it doesn't take much!)
