i just found a double sided-reverse Lincoln cent, I got pretty excited until I read that there couldn't possibly be such a thing, and that any coin that is double sided is a joke coin....is this true??? I don't want it to be true :(.. Anyway, I didn't add a photo because I think I already know the answer, but if anyone wants to see it I will upload a photo.

    Any info will be appreciated:)

    Thanks

Okay, give me a sec. I can take microscope pics too if need be, but for now I'll just take an iPad photo.

I found this penny from a change container that had been in my mother in laws atic since probably 1984. I'm guessing this because the dates from the container don't go higher than 1984

I'd say its a novelty coin of some sort that someone made.

Use your microscope to examine the inside edge of the rim (on both sides if needed). If you can see a very fine joint between the rim and the field of the coin, then it is a magician's coin.

@cmp9ball I just checked the rim but I have no idea what I'm looking at or if I even took good pics. I don't think I see a rim, but maybe you can tell. I can retake pics if need be. I also weighed the coin, if that matters- it weighed 3g.

    Thanks
