This is probably my favorite Roman reverse type, I like the think the (Germanic?) Barbarian on the reverse is a distant relation.:pompous:

Quite a nice coin, thanks for sharing. Although I've got many of good 'ol Constantius II I don't have this reverse type.

Thanks all. Yeah I'm 12 out of 13 mints. I just need Lyons. Well that and I need to upgrade my first one, Constantinople (below).

Here’s my recently completed so-called “barbarian and hut” set for Constans. Not all are beauties. The Antioch has a nice desert patina. The Aquileia is glossy and EF–about as good as it gets. My Siscia is bizarre–perhaps a novice die engraver, or an unofficial coin. Thanks to Bill Welch (“Moonmoth / Moremoth”) selling off much of his collection, I got a deal on quality coins of Rome, Lyons, and Trier in one fell swoop. Bill probably lost money on those coins, judging by the original tags. He made me a gracious offer.

Arles was my last coin in this series. It could use some upgrading, but the price was right: $8 from Portugal.

Note that my photograph collage software just repeated the first three coins to fill out the collage at the bottom. There are only 13 individual coins here representing the 13 mints, from left to right, top to bottom: Alexandria, Arles, Antioch, Nicomedia, Constantinople, Cyzicus, Heraclea, Siscia, Thessalonica, Aquileia, Lyons, Rome, Trier.

I still say the “soldier and barbarian” on this reverse are to be conflated with Aeneas and Ascanius and the Flight from Troy, though I know that’s a tough sell. But that's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Good luck @randygeki with the set!

    Nice.

I have a full mint set for Constans but only have 5 mints for Constantius II.

I think that I was lucky to find my Alexandria.

Rev:– FEL . TEMP . REPARATIO, Soldier advancing right, head left, holding spear and leading small figure from hut beneath tree

That Alexandria is also about as good as it gets. Look at those cheeks on the "barbarian"! He needs to lay off the chocolate bars.

Congrats again, geki ... oh and Gavin, that's a sweet Constans set!

Ummm, if we're gonna pose-down our hut-coins, then this is certainly my only shot at getting a couple of high-fives!!

    It's not a Constantius-II, but this zany double-struck Constans is one of this year's favourite coin-additions ...

    Another excellent hut.

I love that one. If you ever want to get rid of it. :)
