It doesn't seem to have the normal rim and it is smaller than the other nickel... any ideas?

It's just a worn nickel. Welcome to CT.

I found this nickel in a roll of nickels, not sure if its called blockage or what? I am new to Coin Talk and collecting coins. Is it a fairly common occurrence or could it actually be monetary worth something? odd nickel1.jpg Odd Nickel (2).jpg odd nickel1.jpg Odd Nickel (2).jpg odd nickel1.jpg Odd Nickel (2).jpg

I believe the reverse has been abraded off of a normal nickel.

    Post mint damage.

thank you for your reply-even though its not what I was hopeful for-
the obverse is very smooth and you can just faintly see part of the word united.
    it was approx. 4.8 grams
