having gone through over a hundred cases of nickels (shrink wrapped). i have found that most have 1 silver nickel in them very few have 2 fewer have none . but none have over 2 in them . most other types of nickels vary per case very. i was wondering if these are placed by accident or other wise . is it the same over the rest of the country? the different banks where i live (WV) are all about the same when it comes to contents of a case of nickels 1=2 silver 5=20 1940- 49 excluding silver 5 -20 1950-1959 5-10 1968s-1970s 3-9 forign an ocasional error reciently i found while roll searching i found 1938d-1948d- 1939p with nice steps almost mint condition
here is a post from another forum that lists the results of a box search http://www.coindealerratings.com/coin-collecting-forum/index.php?topic=23.0 same as you, 1 silver nickel
i agree with the above post . it just seams odd that there is only 1 or 2 silver nickels in a case like it is planed . yes one is brinks the other starts with s and is out of PA. you would think that ocasionaly you would find more than 1 or 2 . the other day i found 6 1939p's in one case. so why not silver nickels.
